You may wish to choose some of the suggested activities to extend your holiday in Nepal – the following activities can be combined with any of the suggested trekking itineraries.
MOUNTAIN FLIGHTS
All of the domestic airlines operate mountain flights out of Kathmandu. The flight usually lasts for one hour. Immediately after you are airborne, a seemingly endless expanse of snow-capped peaks will appear before you. With Nepal being home to eight of the 8,000 metre peaks in the world and around one hundred peaks over 7,000 metres, this one hour flight truly offers a breathtaking display of nature.
CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK
Established as a national park in 1973, Chitwan is the oldest national park in Nepal. It was declared as a world heritage site in 1984. The park is situated in the south central lowland of the Terai and covers an area of 932 square kilometres. Its subtropical climate sustains a unique ecosystem with a huge diversity in animal and plant life. Sal forest makes up 70% of the vegetation with 20% grassland, 7% riverine forest and 3% with sal and chirpine. Home to more than 43 species of mammal, 450 species of bird and 45 species of amphibians and reptiles Chitwan is a treat for nature lovers. The park is one of the last refuges left for the one horned rhino and the Bengal tiger. Others species you might be hoping to get a glimpse of are rhesus monkey, gaur, striped hyena, sambar deer, sloth bear, gharial crocodile, gangetic dolphin along with many more.
The park is now a popular destination for tourists. Jeep safari, canoeing, elephant rides and jungle walks are some of the ways available for seeing what Chitwan has to offer. Other activates of interest in and around the park are the Tharu village, elephant breeding centre and bird watching. The best time to visit Chitwan National Park is from October through to February when the temperature is averaging at 25 degrees.
The months of March to May can be extremely hot with June to September being Nepal’s monsoon season.
Packages will be arranged with transport, park permits, accommodation and activities inclusive for one night & two days, up to three nights & four days. A variety of standard and deluxe hotels and resorts are available inside and outside of the park perimeters. Activities will include: Tharu village visit and traditional dance, canoeing trip, elephant safari, bird watching, jungle trek and elephant breeding centre.
MOUNTAIN BIKING IN NEPAL
Mountain biking in Nepal has started to boom since the 1980’s and has quickly become know as a haven for mountain bike lovers from all over the world. Nepal is known to have some of the finest biking trails. Its diversity of terrain allows for a huge variety of routes to suit all experience and fitness levels, ranging from strenuous to very difficult. Pleasant cultural trips are possible in and around the Kathmandu valley and the more technically challenging trails in the middle and upper mountains.
Terraced farm land, lush green rice fields, dense forests, river crossings, remote villages and jungles are some of the environments you can expect to pass through during your trail - a paradise for those who love getting out there and close to nature.
TWO DAY MOUNTAIN BIKE
Grade C (Strenuous):
The trip will leave from Kathmandu and you will cycle the back roads through Thimi to the temple town of Bhaktapur. Leaving Bhaktapur you will start the accent to Nagarkot, which is a popular hill station in the Kathmandu valley with spectacular mountain views, and is a great location to view Mt Everest at sunrise. On the second day you will make the decent to Sankhu and the Vajrajogini temple - from here we make our way back in to Kathmandu city via the famous Bodhnath stupa.
THREE DAY MOUNTAIN BIKE
Grade D (Difficult):
This three day trip will bring you on an exciting journey through beautiful country terrain with spectacular mountain views. The trip begins with a pleasant ride to the historic temple town of Bhaktapur. From Bhaktapur the road winds it way up to the hill station of Nagarkot where you will spend the first night. The second day will bring us to Dhulikhel and the highly revered Buddhist site of Namo Buddha. The last day’s ride will take you to the ancient city of Panuiti; here you will find the oldest standing temple in Nepal. After following the Roshi River along the valley you will climb to the eastern rim of the Kathmandu valley where you will be rewarded with spectacular mountain views. The last stretch of the ride will bring us back down in to Kathmandu.

RIVER RAFTING IN NEPAL
Nepal is one of the best rafting and kayaking destinations in the world with its rivers flowing from the glaciers of the mighty Himalaya. Here you have a choice of multi day trips on offer to suit everyone from beginners to those with experience. It is one of the more adventurous ways of getting a feel for Nepal’s rural areas, welcoming people and fascinating culture. Its subtropical climate, warm clear blue rivers, magnificent mountain surroundings and abundance of such beautiful flora and fauna make a river trip in Nepal an adventure to remember.
SETI RIVER RAFTING (2 days)
The pleasant warm waters of the seti makes this the perfect river for beginners and intermediate rafters. The river flows south through stunning mountain terrain and offers splendid views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre and Lamjung Himal.
This picturesque river is relatively low in volume but you will encounter several technical rapids of grade 3. Monsoon season of course will bring the river to a different level.
The first day you will leave for Damauli, the put-in point for the trip. You will spend the rest of the day rafting through beautiful forested canyons. The night’s camp will be on the sandy beach below Saranghat village. The next day you will spend the day on the water as we make our way out of the middle hills down towards the plains of the terai and our final destination. From here we will make our way back to Pokhara.

KALI GANDAKI RAFTING (3 days)
The Kali Gandaki River rises in the remote plains of Mustang. It thunders down between Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna creating the deepest gorge in the world.
On our first day you will drive to our put-in point. After lunch you will start your white water adventure - on this stretch of the river you will encounter class 3 and 4 rapids, so be prepared for a bit of tough team work. The highlight of the second day will be the challenging grade 4 rapid ‘refund’ - this along with a lot of grade 3 rapids makes for a very exciting day on the water.
The scenery while rafting this remote river is simply stunning with excellent views of Annapurna and Himachuli. The wild life and lush vegetation is also breathtaking.
