What are some safety precautions that should be taken when embarking on a trek?
At Celtic Manang Treks your safety is our primary consideration. All our routes are constructed taking your essential acclimatization into consideration. We always trek with extra staff in case the situation arises that one or more of our group may need to descend due to altitude sickness. You will be provided with a detailed leaflet on altitude awareness and general health and safety at our primary briefing before departing Kathmandu. Manang and Jomsom Villages will offer an acclimatization talk hosted by an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) volunteer western doctor for those who wish to attend. Nepal emergency helicopter mountain rescue is at hand in extreme cases of emergency. It is necessary that you have you own travel insurance that will cover you to sufficient altitude.
